Finding the right balance between growing our economy and preserving our natural resources requires forward-looking and careful consideration. We need to ensure that we as a county prosper, and all of our citizens are provided a livable community with a high quality of life. Places 29 and Pantops are located in the Rivanna District and fall under the Growth Area designation. Master planning for both areas is ongoing. Many facets touch upon creating the right balance for growth in these areas, including collaborating at the local, regional and state level and attracting private capital to maximize opportunities cost effectively. We must continue to encourage, value, and support local entrepreneurship, representing the diversity of prospects: from farm to table agricultural enterprises to businesses focusing on our growing tourism industry to innovative tech, as examples. I am committed to moving these goals forward and ensuring the vision in the County's Comprehensive Plan for growth areas is realized.
