Meet Bea

Bea LaPisto-Kirtley is a native of Virginia and has lived in the Rivanna District for the last 16 years. Prior to returning to the area, she served as the Mayor and Councilmember of Bradbury, California.

Bea has served as the Rivanna District representative on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors since 2020.

Bea spent her professional career in education as a teacher, principal, and director of 24 elementary schools for the Los Angeles Unified School District.

She has extensive experience in local government, serving on her local City Council for 20 years, during which she was involved in clean fuel programs that served the school districts and community. Bea focused on actions to mitigate the negative health effects of pollution on the most vulnerable in the localities she represented.

She volunteered with Piedmont CASA, and is a member of the League of Women Voters as well as 100+ Women Who Care.

Bea has a proven record of listening and responding to her constituents while working to find community solutions for community problems.
